An action-packed game with almost limitless possibilities for movement. The game was released by the developer BigBox VR in late 2020 and offers a unique platform where you can do just about anything you set your mind to. Ever wished you could be in an environment like the movie Ready Player One where you could climb tall buildings, leap over everything, and just about move freely with limitless superpowers? That's what this game feels like!
Population: One Game Plot
This is a great multiplayer game where you can team up or fight everyone on the platform. You can fight anywhere- in the air, on the side of buildings, or even fly over and hail out shells on your enemies. A fun action-packed game where there really is no interesting backstory or puzzles to solve- just pure fun and action.
The setting is a huge city where you have endless battle possibilities. You can even fly over with a jetpack on your back, or be in the background as a sniper with endless possibilities to hide your location from the enemy.
Population: One will offer tons of upgrades in the future with new battlegrounds and cities to explore. So they donæt call this game chapter 1 for nothing. Expect a lot more to come from BigBox VR in 2021.
Compatible devices for Population: One
The great thing about this game is that it's available on all large gaming platforms online. So it doesn't matter if you're using Oculus or an HTC Vive, you can find them in all store like Steam and the Oculus Platform.
But unfortunately, the game is not available for PlayStation VR. Since it is compatible with the Oculus Quest 2, it's strange BigBox VR does not have a deal with Sony on this game, as both the PS4 and PS5 would be more than capable to run the game. We might suspect that Sony wanted too much of the cake or, Sony was just not interested at the time.
But in the future, I think we will see it available on PSVR as well.
To run the game on a computer, you would need:
You should also have at least 8GB of storage for the game on your computer.
Final Thoughts on Population: One
If you love multiplayer games with your friends or want to challenge players around the world in combat, this is probably one of the most exciting games to try in 2021. Of course, something can be said about the graphics on the game that does not look that realistic yet. But this is work in development, and we're sure that this game will certainly progress over time to be the to-go-to game for VR newbies. Population: One does not require that much computer capacity either, so it's effortless to get into VR with this game without having to spend thousands on upgrades in order to play the game.
