Based on true events from WWII, this game takes you deeper into this warzone than most games on the same topic. Not to mention you get to experience this in VR, it really makes the story come alive in your very own living room. The game was released in December 2020 on most platforms for VR games online and has since been one of the most popular titles for the Oculus Rift S. The developer Respawn Entertainment has really created a wartime legacy with their medal of Honor games. This will probably become one of their most successful titles for years to come.
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond Gameplay
The title “Above and Beyond” really explains well what you can expect to experience in the game. You will be flying fighter jets, sailing on the shores of Normandie, and driving all sorts of vehicles to get around in this Medal of Honor title. The VR experience is very well made, with great interaction with hands and vision. Giving you the feeling of being fully immersed in this warzone where you are capable of handling any vehicle you set foot in.
To get the best experience, you should have towers for tracking as it will give you the best experience compared to a headset with tracking capabilities.
Your mission is to join the French resistance army to defeat the Germans. I guess the only thing to complain about in this game is this horrible voiceover and enactment of the characters. The people you interact with are not very realistic in this game. Button the battlefield- wow! You are completely immersed in your surroundings as the visuals and sound effects are perfectly executed.
Compatible Devices for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
This game has absolutely stunning graphics and sound that does require quite a bit of juice to run smoothly on a computer. So if you barely can run VR games on your setup, expect some considerable upgrades.
We recommend at least:
The specs aren’t frightening and this is probably what most gamers have at their disposal these days.
Final Thought on Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
The great thing about this game is that you will experience actual events during WWII told by army veterans exactly how certain events happened. So be sure to check those videos out before you play the game to really enjoy every event that takes place in the game. The most fantastic thing about VR is that you can experience true enactments in history. So Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is probably just the beginning of historically accurate games (well, not all of it) you can enjoy learning more about human history.
